he Special Emergency Activity to Restore Children’s Hope (SEARCH) is a registered and accredited non-profit NGO under the laws of Liberia, founded on July 22, 1999 in Sanniquellie, northern Liberia, to promote and protect the rights of children affected by the armed conflict in Liberia.
SEARCH provides advocacy and protection for women and children’s rights, carries out family tracing, referral, resettlement, foster care, education, adoption, and community health services across Liberia.
Since its creation, SEARCH has touched the lives of thousands of women, children, and youths — including refugees and persons with disabilities — through emergency relief, community health services, educational assistance, economic livelihood creation, and legal assistance.
The word ’emergency’ in our name carries a wider meaning: every harmful situation affecting women, children, and persons with special needs — explaining the broad scope of our interventions.
