Special Emergency Activity to Restore Children’s Hope

The Special Emergency Activity to Restore Children’s Hope (SEARCH) is a registered and accredited non-profit, non-governmental organization under the laws of Liberia, founded on July 22, 1999 in Sanniquellie, northern Liberia, to promote and protect the rights of children affected by the armed conflict in Liberia.

SEARCH is committed to providing advocacy and protection for women and children rights; carry out family tracing, referral, resettlement, and provide foster care, education, adoption and community health services in Liberia. SEARCH provides interventions that support utilization of opportunities to connect, lobby, mentor, network and form strategic alliances. Since its creation, SEARCH has touched the lives of thousands of women, children, and youths (including populations of concern such as refugees and persons with disabilities) across Liberia through provision of emergency relief, community health services, educational assistance, economic livelihood creation, and legal assistance.

As a national organization with sub offices in counties of Liberia, SEARCH provides local and national fora where members exchange ideas, be informed about topical issues and create skilful opportunities. SEARCH acts as a lobby group on children’s and women’s issues, highlighting and publicizing not only the barriers to success that may still exist but also many opportunities available to women and children in Liberia and the world over.Through strategic partnerships with donors, other non-profit organizations, governments, leading companies and schools, it provides on-going events and opportunities to advance the interests and needs of children and women.
